Ajimobi Inaugurates Market Leader Council

Oyo State Government has taken steps to boost trading activities and develop markets in the state by inaugurating a Market Leaders Council.

It was inaugurated by the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi at the Executive Chambers of the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan.

The council, led by the Chairman, Oyo State Canteen Workers Association, Alhaja Amudalat Lawal, has eighteen persons as members.

In his speech, Governor Ajimobi stated that the council was aimed at making trading activities orderly, as well as, developing markets across the state.

Governor Ajimobi noted that trading was an essential part of the state’s economy, hence the need for government to support market men and women.

In a remark, the head of the council, Alhaja Lawal appreciated the state government and expressed belief that the council would help to bring unity to all the market and traders association in the state.
