Oyo State Government and the Nigeria Labour Congress have commenced negotiations over labour disputes in the state following the expiration of the three days warning strike embark upon by the union.
The meeting held at the State Secretariat, Ibadan, had the leadership of the Labour in the state and government officials in attendance.
Addressing newsmen after the meeting, NLC Chairman in the state, Mr Waheed Olojede appreciated workers for strict compliance with the industrial action and urge them to resume to their duty posts on Monday.
Mr Olojede said deliberations had begun between both parties,noting that another meeting had been scheduled for next week Wednesday.
Mr Olojede reiterated that the Labour would not relent in the struggled to addressing the welfare of workers in the state.
Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Olalekan Alli expressed optimism that with the level of understanding displayed by both parties, the labour disputes would be amicably resolved.
It would be recalled that the NLC directed workers to embark on a three days warning strike on Wednesday which expired yesterday (friday 26th January).
