The new executives of the National Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ in Ekiti State have been sworn in, with an appeal to them to discharge their duties effectively.
Performing the ceremony at the NUJ Secretariat in Ado Ekiti, the Vice President of NAWOJ, B zone Mrs. Morenike Tony- Esan charged them to be focused and also to carry along every female journalist in the state.
In her remarks, the NAWOJ National President Mrs. Ifeyinwa Omowole congratulated the new executives and urged them to reconcile with all aggrieved members in order to keep the Union moving.
Mrs. Omowole berated two chapels for boycotting the election, which paved the way for the new executives to emerge unopposed.
Also, the State Chairman, NUJ, Mr. Rotimi Ojomoyela challenged the new NAWOJ EXCO to rise up and fight for the course of women, especially in cases of rape against minors in the state.
In her acceptance speech, the New Chairperson, NAWOJ, Alhaja Fatima Bello pledged the readiness of the current officers to provide purposeful leadership that everybody would be proud of and solicited the support of members to achieve success.
The newly sworn-in executives of NAWOJ in Ekiti State are Alhaja Fatimo Bello- chairperson, Mrs Bimbo Yusuf- Vice Chairperson, Mrs Adewumi Ademiju- Secretary, Mrs Olufisoye Adenitan-Assistant Secretary, Mrs. Funke Rotimi- Treasurer and Mrs. Olofin Victoria- Financial secretary.
