Hundreds of Motorcycle riders in Abeokuta have protested the introduction of emission fee by the Ogun state Environmental Protection Agency, OGEPA.

The Motorcycle riders mainly the operators, alleged that leaders of the recognized associations had compromised the interests of the members for their continuous occupation of the union posts by agreeing with the Government on the payment of the fee without consultation.

The motorcycle riders protested round the capital city to the state Secretariat, Isale Igbehin, Okelewo.

According to the protesting motorcyclists, the union leaders have not been consulting them as members before arriving at decisions that affect them.

They also alleged that Government has been supporting those that are not in the business to exploit them.

Reacting to the protest, Administrative Secretary, ACOMORAN, Mr. Olurotimi Abatan said the protesters were not their members, noting that they were being used by political detractors of the State Government.
