Osun Speaker, Dr. Najeem Salaam

Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Dr. Najeem Salaam has tasked Muslim faithful to take advantage of Ramadan fasting period to pray for the restoration of security and economic buoyancy in Nigeria.

In a statement signed by his Press Secretary, Mr. Goke Butika, the Speaker noted that the security situation in some parts of the country called for prayers of residents in the country to aid government in overcoming the challenge.

Dr. Salaam also urged Islamic clerics to teach the virtues of Prophet Mohammed and dictates of Quran which uphold high moral standard and Godliness through the messages in this month of Ramadan.

He maintained that the country could not afford violence-inciting preaching at this critical phase, stressing that messages that would bring peace and harmony should be the focus for this holy month.
