The Federal Government in a bid to make small businesses thrive Nationally has initiated a stakeholders forum to review its policy on micro, small and medium enterprises.
The review of the policy meant to correct the challenges on the existing one would be conducted in the six geopolitical zones of the country.
At the stakeholders meeting held in Ibadan, Director, Industrial Department of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr Kunle Olorode, noted that growth and development of any Economy globally, depended on micro, small and medium enterprises.
Mr Olorode said Government was addressing problems identified through the implementation of policies and programmes.
He noted that Government through the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment was reviewing the National policy on MSME, which had been in operation for five years to reflect the current realities in the economy.
One of the stakeholders, Mr Yinka Ayeleso of the Cooperate Affairs Commission said registration of businesses could be achieved within twenty-four hours through the online platform.
Other stakeholders stressed the need for full implementation of recommendations at the meeting in order not to make the stakeholders’ forum a fruitless effort.
