PDP Wins Ibarapa East State Constituency Bye-election

Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  Mr. Adebo Ogundoyin as the winner of the bye-election to occupy the vacant seat of Ibarapa East State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly.

Announcing the result at the collation centre in Eruwa, the Collation Officer, Dr Deji Omole from the University of Ibadan said, the PDP candidate polled the total of Six thousand, two hundred and seventy seven votes out of the total of fourteen thousand, one hundred and seventy nine votes cast to defeat his closest rival from APC, Mr. Olukunle Adeyemo who polled the total of four thousand, six hundred and nineteen votes.

In the contest, Candidate of Accord, Mr. Adebodun Adepoju garnered Two thousand, eight hundred and fifty nine votes.

The contested seat became vacant following the death of the Late Speaker of the House, Mr. Michael Adeyemo, who represented the constituency since 2011 until April 27, this year.
