Oyo State Government has reiterated its determination to transform the state to a citadel of knowledge and digital literacy in the country.
Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Olalekan Alli stated this at a seminar in Ibadan, organised by the office of the special adviser to the Governor on Education.
Alhaji Alli noted that the State Model Education System intervention, OYOMESI, initiated by the present administration was targeted at equipping students in secondary and tertiary institution with the necessary knowledge and moral behaviours required to compete favourably across the globe.
Alhaji Alli stated that with all the recent interventions of the state government, the Abiola Ajimobi-led administration was poised to making Oyo State one of the top five ranked best economy in the country.
In a remark, Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Dr Bisi Akin-Alabi emphasised the importance of digital literacy, which the state government had inculcated into its education system through the OYOMESI model.
Dr Akin-Alabi added that the education sector in the state had witnessed a major turn around since the inception of the present government in 2011.
