Ogun State Government is to collaborate with the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, on the construction of power sub-stations to generate over one thousand megawatts of electricity, especially in industrial areas of the state.
The TCN Managing Director, Mr. Usman Muhammed who made this known after the company made a presentation to the state government explained that the project would be financed by a Japanese based company.
Mr Muhammed said the project, which had already commenced would involve the construction of power sub-stations in areas with industrial clusters such as, Ogijo, Redemption camp, Arigbajo, Ajegunle among others.
The TCN Managing Director noted that Ogun state government would partner the agency in the area of payment of compensation to residents and right of ways, stressing that the Environmental impact assessment and other important aspects of the project had been completed.
According to him, there is a need for realignment in some areas as part of the project, which may delay the take-off of the project slightly but work will commence as soon as these are sorted out.
Mr. Muhammed said the payment of over 200 Million Naira compensation to residents would commence as soon as other issues were worked out.
