Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Ekiti state says it is fully prepared for Saturday’s Governorship poll in the state.
INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Abdulganiyu Raji who addressed a news conference on Friday in Ado Ekiti said aggressive preparations for the election started six months ago.
Professor Raji explained that Ten thousand, seven hundred trained Ad-hoc staff would be deployed to conduct the election
The Resident Electoral Commissioner announced that accreditation and voting would start simultaneously by 8:00 am and end by 2 O’clock in the afternoon after the last person on the queue has voted.
According to him, over 667 thousand people who have collected their permanent voter cards would be allowed to vote in 2,195 polling units across the state.
Professor Raji also disclosed that 51 local observer groups and seven foreign observer groups were accredited to monitor the governorship election.
He therefore seek the cooperation of all stakeholders to ensure the success of the election.
