Osun House of Assembly has directed the contractor handling the Gbongan road to present documents relating to the specifications of the road under construction so as to verify its standard.
The Deputy Speaker, Mr. Akintunde Adegboye gave the directive when he led some members of the Assembly to inspect the level of work done on the road.
While commending the completion of the Trumpet Bridge along Ibadan road, the Deputy Speaker said the House would continue to ensure proper monitoring and evaluation of all projects done in the state.
However, the lawmakers complained about potholes seen in some portion of the road and directed the contractor to expedite action in repairing the portion so as to prevent any accident.
Commenting on the road construction, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Transport, Mr. Nurudeen Adeagbo explained that the potholes on the already tarred road were due to contaminated bitumen used.
Responding, the Managing Director of the construction company, Mr. Fouad assured that all potholes and other error would be repaired within two weeks.
