NYSC DG Warns Corps Member against Unlawful Travel

Following the death of some corps members in Taraba State, the Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Suleiman Kazaure has warned corps members nationwide not to embark on any unauthorised journey.

Brigadier General Kazaure gave the warning while addressing corps members at the Ikare Akoko Orientation Camp in Ondo State.

The NYSC DG who expressed sadness over the demise of the corps members in Taraba State noted that the scheme would not allow such ugly incident to recur.

He said any corps member who has plans to travel must inform Local Government Inspectors adding that they should also desist from holding social gathering late in the day.

The Director General also advised them to respect the culture and tradition of their host communities to foster unity and peaceful coexistence.

In a briefing, the NYSC coordinator in Ondo State, Mrs. Grace Akpabio told Brigadier General Kazaure that some challenges facing the scheme were being addressed with the assistance of the Ondo State government.

Mrs. Akpabio however stressed the need for fencing of part of the orientation camp to avoid security threat to Corps members in camp.
