Teachers have been advised to make learning of Yoruba language easier and more attractive to students.
Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose gave the advice while declaring open the 44th National Conference of Egbe Akomolede ati Asa Yoruba held at the Federal Science and Technical College, Usi Ekiti.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Princess Adekunbi Obaisi, the Governor charged Yoruba language teachers to always update their knowledge by attending relevant seminars on their job.
In his message, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi who spoke through the Ladooko of Adimula of Ife, Oba Wale Oladipo enjoined parents to always teach their children Yoruba Language and Culture to prevent it from going into extinction.
Earlier, the Ekiti State Chairman, Egbe Akomolede ati Asa Yoruba, Elder Segun Oladunjoye urged government to make Yoruba language a compulsory subject in both public and private schools.
