It was a solemn but joyous atmosphere with commendations as friends and family members of a retired civil servant and philanthropist in Ilora town Deacon John Ranti Oguntona gathered to pay their last respects to the late centenarian at Aloba Lawoyin Baptist Church, Ilora, Oyo state.
In a sermon, Reverend Adeyemi Salaudeen said wealth does not bring true satisfaction to man but service to God, acts of charity, good relationship with others and commitment to one’s community.
Reverend Salaudeen advised people, especially Christians to always think of their end and act in accordance with God’s commandments.
Friends and family members of the deceased described him as a thorough disciplinarian, principled but loving and a caring man, who is worthy of emulation.
Pastor Abass Asban prayed for the family of the deceased, relations and friends while encouraging them to keep up with good deeds of the late Deacon John Ranti Oguntona in order to sustain his legacies.
