Ondo State government is committed to providing jobs for the unemployed youths through agriculture.
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu reiterated the commitment while receiving delegates of Food and Agriculture Organisation, FAO, of the United Nations in his office at Alagbaka, Akure.
Mr. Akeredolu who described agriculture as his major cardinal point however decried the alarming rate of unemployment and food insecurity across the country.
He expressed optimism that through agriculture, the perennial problem of unemployment would become history.
The governor also believed that food security and buoyant economy would come to stay once the policy became implemented.
Earlier, leader of the delegates and FAO representative in Nigeria, Mr. Suffyan Koroma had expressed the organization’s willingness to address
the various agricultural challenges in the state with a view to achieving zero hunger in the land.
