Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, in Osun says no fewer than twelve lives were lost in twenty-one road accidents in the state last month.
The Sector Commander, Peter Oke, made this known in an interview in Osogbo.
Mr. Oke blamed most of the accidents on over speeding, impatience and wrong overtaking by motorists, among others.
He also announced that five hundred and eighty-seven offenders were apprehended for various traffic offences, among which two hundred and nineteen persons were educated with thorough warning against traffic offences.
The Sector Commander added that the Command issued one thousand, one hundred and twelve driver’s licenses to motorists, and also embarked on some awareness programmes to sensitize the public on road-related matters.
Mr. Oke therefore called on motorists to obey traffic laws, saying that the Command would not hesitate to deal with anyone that violates the law.
