Nigeria Customs Service, Oyo/Osun Area Command, says it has generated over twenty-one billion Naira from January this year till date.
Area Comptroller of the Command, Mr. Abdullah Argungu made the statement while displaying some seized imported products made at different locations within the Command areas of coverage.
The seized goods include 8 used vehicles, over three thousand bags of foreign parboiled rice, six hundred kegs of vegetable oil, and some bags of India hemp, other includes 25 bales of second-hand clothes and 33 means of conveyance, with duty paid value, put at over one hundred million Naira.
While briefing the newsmen, the Area Comptroller said the achievements were made possible through the efforts of patriotic officers and the help of some community leaders.
He said the Command has begun stronger strategies at all the borders, to make the smuggling business a non-lucrative job for smugglers.
Mr. Argungu added that the Command was ready to bring those who flout extant customs and exercise laws regulations to book, enabling legitimate business owner to enjoy trade facilitation.
