Following the clashes among some hoodlums resulting in wanton destruction of property in some part of Ibadan, Police have deployed 24 hours surveillance to bring back normalcy.

Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in Oyo state, Mr. Adekunle Ajisebutu made this known in an interview with Radio Nigeria on the update of the crisis.

Mr. Ajisebutu noted that some hoodlums suspected to be arsonists burnt down thirty shops and several houses located along the popular Beere-Molete road of Ibadan.

The police spokesperson said eleven suspects in connection with the mayhem have been arrested and would soon be charged to court after thorough investigation.

Mr. Ajisebutu stated further that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Abiodun Odude has ordered the officers drafted to the areas to carry out intensive patrol and surveillance to avoid further breakdown of law and order.

Mr. Ajisebutu added that investigation to determine the cause and motive behind the incident is ongoing and warned people with criminal tendencies to leave Oyo state or risk facing the wrath of the law.
