Experts Call For Improvement of Poverty-Alleviation Programmes

Government should ensure transparency and accountability in all programmes aimed at alleviating poverty.

Participants on “Focal Point”, a Radio Nigeria discussion programme, stated this while speaking on efforts of government at reducing poverty.

A financial expert, Mrs. Bukola Ajayi was of the opinion that Trader Moni initiative should be handled by micro financial institutions for more effectiveness.

Similarly, a trader and a social activist, Mrs. Kemi Koleowo, who lauded the initiative, urged government to put machinery in place to achieve the desired result.

Mrs. Koleowo added that government should continue to make policies that would benefit the masses.
