Thousands of N-power beneficiaries in Oyo state have embarked on a “Thank You Rally” to appreciate the Federal Government for creating jobs for them.
The beneficiaries, clad in white and black attires, moved from the Government Arcade, through Total Garden down to Agodi Gardens chanting praises of President Muhamadu Buhari.
Some of the beneficiaries, who spoke with Radio Nigeria, said the N-power scheme had engaged many youths and reduced the rate of unemployment in the country.
The beneficiaries called on the Federal Government to make the N-power scheme permanent.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation, Mr. Afolabi Imoukhuede told the N-power beneficiaries to vote for the re-election of President Buhari to ensure continuity of all the social welfare and empowerment programmes of the Federal Government.
Mr. Imoukhuede noted that over nine billion naira had been injected into the Oyo state economy through the various empowerment programmes of the Federal Government.
In a remark, Oyo state Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi said about twenty thousand youths were currently engaged under the N-power scheme, stressing the need to vote for the All Progressives Congress, APC, both at the federal and state levels.
