Governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo state, Mr. Seyi Makinde says he will cancel the Close Circuit Television, CCTV contract and use the budget to equip the police and other security operatives for adequate security in the state.
Mr. Makinde stated this in Olokoto, Oriire Local Council Development Area, LCDA while addressing members of the community in continuation of his campaign.
He said this became imperative as the state did not have database to justify the CCTV project embarked upon by the present administration in Oyo state.
The PDP governorship candidate promised to use the budget of the project to buy vehicles and other security targets for the police because the CCTV project could not be effective without adequate backup technology and constant power supply.
Also speaking, former Majority Leader, House of Representatives, Mrs. Mulikat Akande while soliciting support from the area said PDP government if voted in would empower women in order contribute their quota to the develop of Oyo state and Nigeria as a whole.
Earlier, Mr. Makinde had addressed traditional rulers and stakeholders in Surulere Local Government where he pledged to rule with the fear of God if elected.
On the campaign team is the governorship candidate’s wife, Omini, PDP deputy governorship candidate, Engineer Raufu Olaniyan, PDP state chairman, Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha, his secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, Director General of the campaign tram, Chief Bayo Lawal, Alhaja Bose Adedibu and Mr. Bayo Okeyode, among others.
