Oyo AD Governorship Candidate Commences Campaign

The Alliance for Democracy, AD governorship candidate in Oyo State, Mr. Hakeem Alao says arrears of pensioners will be offset within three months if he emerged as Governor in March second elections.

Mr. Alao said this while launching his governorship campaign in Ibadan.

He explained that it was unfortunate that retirees, who served the state with their active years, were faced with nonpayment of pension arrears and late payment of other entitlements.

The Oyo State AD governorship candidate said the blueprint to restructure the state had been formulated and tagged “Roadmap to Redemption”

Mr Alao said AD was not negotiating with any political party and appealed to party faithful to intensify grassroots campaign, which would enable all AD candidates to emerge victorious in the forthcoming polls.

He disclosed that some party chieftains were suspended for anti-party activities, while the crises in the party have been resolved.

Mr. Alao called on electorate to vote massively for AD, describing it as a party with rich history of good governance, provision of free education and adequate security.

Earlier, the Zonal chairman of A.D., Otunba Tayo Onayemi, said Alliance for Democracy would ensure rapid development of Oyo State if voted into power.

The launch of the AD governorship campaign also featured presentation of party’s flag to Mr Hakeem Alao and unveiling of candidates for various elective positions in the coming elections.
