NDLEA Seizes 2,330 Tonnes of Cannabis in Ondo

In continuation of the special exercise “Cat Dance 2”, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Ondo State Command has seized two hundred and sixty bags of cannabis stashed in a warehouse in Oke-Aro area of Akure, in Ondo State.

The Ondo State NDLEA Commander, Mr. Haruna Gagara while parading a suspect at the command’s Headquarters, Alagbaka, Akure, said the drugs which at two thousand three hundred and thirty tonnes had a market value of nine million naira.

Mr. Gagara who said the cannabis seized were for distribution within and outside Ondo state was capable of disrupting the peace of the nation especially during and after the general elections.

He warned owners of warehouses not to give them out for storage of illicit drugs as such property would be forfeited to the federal government.

The commander thanked Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the people for their support in riding Ondo state of hard drugs.
