Nigeria Police, Oyo State Command has apprehended a suspected notorious cultist, Araoye Adeniyi who has been terrorising the people around Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso and its environs.

Adeniyi was among some suspected criminals paraded by the Commissioner of Police in Oyo state, Mr. Shina Olukolo at Police Headquarters, Eleyele Ibadan.

According to the police, Adeniyi was arrested on a motorcycle with a bag filled with weapons fastened to his back while on a stop and search based on a tip-off.

Adeniyi who confessed to belong to Eiye confraternity identified himself as a student of accounting department in LAUTECH and noted that he was initiated into the cult group by his friends.

Other suspects who were arrested for various offences confessed to the crime and begged for leniency.

While parading the suspects, Commissioner of police in the state, Mr. Shina Olukolu said the command would continue to map out strategies to combat and reduce crime and criminality to the barest minimum.

Mr. Olukolu said the suspects would soon be charged to court after investigation.
