The Ekiti state commissioner of Police, Mr. Amba Asuquo has confirmed drastic reduction in crime rate in the state in the last few months.
Mr. Asuquo made this known while addressing newsmen in Ado Ekiti.
He noted that the strategies put in place with the support of the sister agencies had yielded positive result, with an appeal to the residents to continue to give useful information to the police on hideouts of criminals.
The Ekiti state police boss said the command in collaboration with its Ondo state counterpart had commenced regular patrol of Ikere-Akure road to stem the tide of incessant kidnappings on the route.
Mr. Asuquo called on the people of the state to support the command towards fishing out bad eggs in the force.
He said that the rank of one inspector was recently reduced to sergeant after he allegedly received five thousand naira bribe from a suspected fraudster in the state.
