School Resumption: Commissioner Warns Against Collection of Illegal Fees

As the new academic session begins tomorrow, Oyo state government wants all the Principals and teachers to commence academic work immediately.

A statement by the state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Kehinde Sangodoyin says principals, teachers, and students are expected to be in schools before eight o’clock for academic work to commence.

Professor Sangodoyin stated that quality education that would yield best academic performance was the target goal of the Governor Mankinde’s led administration in the state.

The commissioner admonished principals and teachers to work hard towards preparing the students for excellent performance in this new academic session and improvement in national rating of the state in external examinations.

The statement notes that facilities and teacher’s remunerations will be at the forefront of government reckoning to achieve the lofty goal, while teachers are expected to do their bit.

Professor Sangodoyin warned principals and teachers to abstain from illegal fees collection from parents under any guise

The statement therefore appeals to parents to be alive to their responsibilities by making their wards valuable assets to both the parents and society in future.
