Workers in the service of Ondo State have received assurance of prompt promotion with government increased efforts to settle all outstanding salary arrears.
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu gave the assurance during the inauguration of Sixteen Permanent Secretaries and three members of the Judicial Service commission, JSC in Akure, the state capital
The Governor said the appointment was based on merit and facts from the workers’ records.
Governor Akeredolu who commended the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries and members of the JSC for their meritorious services to the State’s Civil Service assured workers of prompt promotion, describing public service as an engine room to good governance.
The Governor encouraged the new appointees to use their offices for the betterment of the state.
He however charged them not to participate in politics, noting that such could mar their careers and duties.
The Ondo State helmsman lamented that paucity of funds had negatively affected some activities of the state government but promised to do all within his capability to pay the State workers all arrears being owed by his predecessor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko’s led administration without further delay.
Earlier The State’s Head of Service, Mr Toyin Akinkootu had expressed hope that the appointment would enhance service delivery in the state.
Mr Isaac Orimoloye who responded onbehalf of other appointees pledged to uphold the civil service rules.
The oath of Office and Allegiance were administered by the State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Adekola Olawoye.
