After, series of pleadings and intervention by the police, the immediate past chairman of the Nigeria Union of journalists, NUJ in Ekiti State, Chief Laolu Omosilade has finally handed over the union property in his care to the new executives headed by Mr. Rotimi Ojomoyela.
At a brief ceremony held at the premises of BSES in Ado Ekiti, Chief Omosilade apologized for the late handing over of the property, blaming the development on the circumstances beyond his control.
He however congratulated the NUJ new executives and assured them of his full support.
Responding, the NUJ Chairman, Mr. Rotimi Ojomoyela described the handing over as a welcome development.
He said the present Exco was determined to impact positively on the lives of all NUJ members in Ekiti State.
Mr Ojomoyela used the forum to appeal to the aggrieved NUJ members to embrace peace to ensure the growth of the union.
The property handed over included the union’s dusty bus with four tyres deflated, its key, and the key to the Secretariat as well as the bank account.
