A twenty seven -year-old man, Diran Olawale has been in arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate Court in Osun State for allegedly defrauding one Abiola Adelakun to the tune of Seven Hundred Thousand Naira.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Adewuyi Kehinde told the court that the accused person committed the offence in April, 2011 at No3, Olobi street Owo Ope, Osogbo.
The prosecutor said the accused person obtained the sum of 700,000,00 under the pretence to purchase the victim an acre of land at Ota- Efun, in Osogbo, knowing full well to be false.
The alleged offence according to the prosecutor was contrary to and punishable under Section 419,390 (9) and 249 (D) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. 11 Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2003.
But accused person pleaded not guilty to the three count charges slammed against him.
Counsel to the suspect, Mr Alayokun Ayobami, applied for the bail of his client in the most liberal term.
Mr Ayobami, who assured the court that the suspect would not jump bail if granted, said reliable sureties were ready to stand for him.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.A. Oloyode, granted the accused person bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like some.
Oloyade said, the sureties must be resident within the court jurisdiction and submit evidence of tax clearance for 3 years with affidavit of means and 3 passport sized photographs also the sureties address must be verified by the Police.
The case was adjourned till May 3, 2018 for hearing
