A Former Executive Director, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station, Chief Sanya Oyinsan wants Federal Government to adequately funding the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN and its Fm stations nationwide to enable the corporation to maintain its flagship position in Broadcast media industry.

Chief Oyinsan made the appeal at an event commemorating the 16th Anniversary of Radio Nigeria, Positive 102.5 Fm, Akure.

The Former FRCN boss said most Federal Government owned Radio Stations were suffering severe financial restraint, which has grossly affected output of the radio stations.

Chief Oyinsan urged FRCN staff to should live up to their mandate of relaying unbiased and balanced news to the public.

Also speaking, the Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Yemi Olowolabi charged Positive Fm to sustain its professional programmes and balanced news reportage of state activities.

The Zonal Director, FRCN Ibadan Zonal Station, Alhaji Muhammed Bello said Radio Nigeria would continue to serve the public professionally.

The General Manager, Positive Fm, Deacon Femi Oladipo disclosed that new programmes were being introduced on the station to further serve the public efficiently.

On the occasion, some members of staff of Radio Nigeria, Positive Fm who distinguished themselves in the course of their duties were honoured with award of excellence.

The workers are, Evelyn Arawomo emerged Best Studio Manager, Augustina Okinedo, Best Reporter, Olawale Koretimi got the Best Announcer, Richard Igba, Best Transport Staff, Abdulrahman Gbadamosi, Best Engineer, Michael Akanbi, Best Accountant, Arawomo Pius, Best Auditor, Falodun Tunbosun, Best ICT Staff, Raji Nasiru, Best Marketer, Kunle Oladuja, Best Works staff, Kemisola Oloruntoba, best Producer and Leke Adegbite as the best News Editor.

In an interview, some of them described the award as a call to quality service delivery.

The Spokesman for the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, Prince Abayomi Adesanya and the Media Officer to the Obalogun of Igoba, Chief Ikolo Gold applauded Radio Nigeria Positive Fm for sustaining professionalism in its operations in the last sixteenth years.
