The National Orientation Agency has advocated attitudinal change towards the protection, conservation and maintenance of the critical public assets.
The Acting Director of the agency in Osun State, Mrs Yomi Olasinde stated this during a community based sensitization campaign in Ede and Ibokun.
Mrs Olasinde said the sensitization campaign was aimed at mobilizing the citizens across the country to take ownership of the protection of public infrastructure and also inculcate behavioural change necessary for sustainable action against vandalism.
The Acting Director decried the attitude of the general public towards preserving and protecting public assets and critical infrastructure, saying Nigerians must change their dispositions to public infrastructure.
She called on traditional Rulers, Religious and Community leaders, Women Organisations, Security Agents, Youth Organisations and the general public to take proper ownership of the public assets in their domains by guiding it being vandalized.
Stakeholders at the event, which include security agents, religious leaders, youth organisations and Vigilante groups promised to ensure that all government facilities in their domains were well secured.
Highlight of the programme was a visit to some Traditional institutions to educate them on the need to keep Surveillance on Governments assets in their areas
