A factional chairman has emerged in Ondo State All Progressives Congress, APC.
He is Mr. Idowu Otetubi from Ward 7 in Akure South Local government area in the central senatorial district of the state.
Mr. Otetubi polled nine hundred and forty votes to defeat Mr. Olubunmi Alo who polled eighteen votes at the State congress conducted at Iroko Secondary School, Owena in Ifedore Local Government area of the state.
Announcing the results, the returning Officer, Mr. Tolu Babaleye described the exercise as peaceful despite the earlier disruption at the initial venue in Akure by hoodlums.
Mr. Babaleye noted that the Congress was conducted in line with the APC guidelines and was witnessed by relevant authorities.
In his acceptance speech, the new chairman, Mr. Idowu Otetubi promised to reposition the party in Ondo State and support the government including the developmental agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari.
