The member representing Sagamu One State Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly, Mr. Adeyinka Mafe has appealed to the Federal government to keep to its promise on the rehabilitation of the Sagamu-Ikorodu road to alleviate the sufferings of the people.
Mr. Mafe made the appeal during a plenary while reacting to the Federal government’s recent take-over of the road project from the Ogun State government.
The lawmaker expressed concern over the Federal government’s action on the road project which he claimed that the State government had done about seven kilometres of it.
He pointed out that the residents of Area were expressing worries over the Federal government’s thirty-six months period of completion of the project as against the eighteen months of the State government.
In a related development, the lawmakers representing Odeda and Remo North State Constituencies, Mrs. Yetunde Adekanbi-Sogbein and Mr. Adebiyi Adeleye lamented the conditions of roads in the areas and called on the State government to provide palliatives for easy movement of people and goods.
Responding, the Speaker, Prince Suraj Adekunbi who encouraged the people of Sagamu to keep faith with the Federal government on the completion of Sagamu-Ikorodu road on scheduled, reiterated the commitment of the State government to ensure that all road networks across the State were motorable before the end of the present administration’s term.
