Ondo State House of Assembly, ODHA, has reinstated the impeached Deputy Speaker, Mr. Iroju Ogundeji.
The reversal of the impeachment was moved in a motion by the Majority Leader, Mr. Olugbenga Araoyinbo and seconded by Alhaji Fatai Olotu at a plenary presided over by the Speaker, Mr. Bamidele Oleyelogun.
According to the legislators, the reinstatement was as a result of the intervention of well-meaning Nigerians including the leadership of APC in the state, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun amongst others.
Mr. Ogundeji was impeached by his colleagues and immediately replaced by Chief Abimbola Fajolu over allegations of high handedness, misappropriation of funds and being at loggerheads with the Speaker, Mr. Oleyeloogun.
Speaking with Journalists, the reinstated Deputy Speaker, Mr. Ogundeji described the allegations as part of House politics.
He called for more mutual understanding among the lawmakers in order to steer the wheel of progress in the right direction through appropriate legislation.
