Ahead of the next month governorship election in Ekiti State, an international hip hop musician Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2face has passionately appealed to youths in the state to shun violence during this political period.
2face made the plea in Ado Ekiti while addressing hundreds of youths and his fans as part of his campaign tagged vote not fight.
The legend musician after entertaining the audience told them to obey all electoral guidelines and never allow themselves to be used as agents of destruction for the country to grow.
He equally appealed to political parties, candidates and their supporters to shun campaign of calumny and give respect the decision of the electorate.
In a contribution, the convener of the programme in Ekiti Miss Bola Aladejare said the campaign would be taken round nook and crannies of Ekiti.
In a remark the public relations officer of the Ekiti State Police Command Mr Caleb Ikechukwu expressed concern over the incessant crisis in Ekiti, saying the police was more combat ready than ever to deal with culprits.
Also INEC representative Alhaji Taiwo Gbadegeshin said the commission could only record a credible election if the atmosphere is peaceful.
Others who spoke appreciated the initiative of 2face towards the peace campaign urging other celebrities to join him.
