The Ondo State House of Assembly has summoned the Management of State Fire Service to appear before it.
This was as a result of their attitude to the Fire incident at the Akure South Local Government office annex around Deji’s palace in Akure.
The House sympathized with the victims of the incident and wished them speedy recovery from the loss
The lawmakers who had earlier visited the scene of the inferno expressed displeasure over the level of damage the incident had caused and the effects on the victims.
Speaking at a plenary presided over by the Speaker, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun, the Lawmaker representing Akure South Constituency one, Mr Sunday Olajide called on the state government to come to the aid of the victims to give them succour.
Mr Olajide commended the Deji of Akure for the active role played during the incident.
Another Lawmaker, Mr Ifedayo Akinsoyinu enjoined the Fire Service in the state to be proactive and emphasized the need to be removed from the Ministry of Works to stand on its own for enhanced service delivery.
