Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo State says extreme hunger among members is the reason for taking the state government to court.
This is contained in a statement in Ibadan by chairman of the union, Mr. Gbadegesin Akande, and the Secretary, Mr. Olusegun Abatan.
The statement notes that the pensioners are being owed pensions and gratuities, which had resulted into hunger and death.
It explains that no individual or corporate body is sponsoring the pensioners to seek redress at the National Industrial Court sitting in Ibadan over unpaid pensions and gratuities.
Nigeria Union of Pensioners, had last week took the state government to court over non-payment of forty two point three billion naira owed retired primary school teachers and local government retirees in Oyo State.
