Secretary to the Osun State government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti has defected to the Action Democratic Party, ADP, to pick its gubernatorial ticket.
Alhaji Adeoti also resigned his appointment as the Secretary to the state Government.
This follows his withdrawal from the last Friday direct primary election of the All Progressives Congress, APC, where the Chief of Staff to the governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola emerged the candidate.
Alhaji Adeoti announced his defections at the Action Democratic Party, ADP, secretariat in Osogbo, where he also emerged as the party’s flagbearer for the September governorship election in the State.
Addressing members of his new party, the former Osun SSG said his decision was informed by the desire to serve the people and provide people-centered leadership.
Similarly, hundreds of People’s Democratic Party, PDP, members stormed the party secretariat in Biket area of Osogbo protesting what they call the manipulation of Saturday’s delegate primary.
The aggrieved members said they were delegates who voted during the exercise, but the outcome did not reflect their wish.
Spokesperson for the protesting PDP members, Mr. Funso Babarinde urged the National leadership of the party to review the exercise, particularly the ballot papers that were declared invalid.
Mr. Babarinde said for the party to win the September 22nd governorship election, it was important to do justice to the case.
