The new Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 11, Danjuma Ibrahim has appealed to Governor Abiola Ajimobi to caution some residents in Oyo State not to join mischief makers to cause violence in Osun State during the coming Governorship elections.

The AIG made the appeal during a courtesy visit to the Governor’s office, Agodi, Ibadan.

AIG Ibrahim explained that though arrangement were in top gear by the Police force to ensure violence free and credible election in Osun State, he noted that caution needed to be applied to forestall influx of thugs from neighbouring states.

While noting that about forty thousand Police officers would be deployed to Osun State for the election, AIG Ibrahim also commended Governor Abiola Ajimobi for his effort in maintaining peace and security in Oyo State and appealed for more support to the Police force.

In a remark, Governor Abiola Ajimobi expressed confidence that the election in Osun State would be free and credible with the calibre of professionals, particularly from the Police force saddled with the task of providing security during the election.

Governor Ajimobi thereafter pledged the unflinching support of the state government to the police force as maintenance of peace and security remain a priority of his administration.
