The Ogun State Forestry Plantation Project, Area J4, wants the State government to release its 2018 budget to enable it carry out the appropriated projects.
The Project Manager of the Plantation, Mr. Waheed Adebosin made the plea during an Oversight visit of members of the State House of Assembly Committee on Agriculture and Forestry.
Mr. Adebosin who emphasised the need for adequate funding of the Forest reserves towards ensuring sustainability, identified conservation of forests as panacea for exploitations including farming and illegal felling of trees.
The Project Manager while stating that the plantation had been able to produced fifty thousand tree seedlings in the year under review, highlighted lack of motorable road and project vehicles as other challenges confronting members of staff to perform their duties effectively.
In a remark, the Chairman, House of Assembly Committee on Agriculture and Forestry, Mr. Ganiyu Oyedeji encouraged the members of staff to remain committed and dodged in the discharge of their duties despite the challenges confronting them.
