INEC to Display Voters’ Register in Ondo

As part of efforts to ensure no registered voter is disenfranchised, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Ondo State will commence display of the names of over one point three million registered voters in all the three thousand and nine polling unit across the state from Tuesday November 6.

The state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Dr Rufus Akeju, disclosed this to newsmen at a press briefing in Akure.

According to Dr. Akeju, the exercise is scheduled for between nine o’clock in the morning and three o’clock in the afternoon and will last till Monday, November 12.

The REC noted that one million, three hundred and seventy thousand, one hundred and fifty eight voters have registered so far.

He stressed that the aim of the exercise is to allow all registered voters check for corrections of their details and other information supplied to INEC during the last registration exercise.

The REC added that three hundred and sixty-four thousand, two hundred and sixty-five Permanent Voters Card, PVCs are yet to be collected and urged residents who registered for them to also make use of the opportunity to collect their cards.
