The Chairman, Senate Committee on Works, Senator Kabiru Gaya says more efforts will be made to ensure speedy completion of ongoing federal road projects along the Ogun State corridor.
Senator Gaya who said the committee’s visit to Ogun State was part of the oversight function of the Senate, pointed out that the timely completion of the road project would bring relief to road users.
The Chairman, Senate committee on Works who expressed concern over the slow pace of work on the at Ayila/Araromi area of the state, said President Buhari was working hard to ensure timely completion of the projects, especially the Lagos-Abeokuta road.
In a remark, Governor Ibikunle Amosun renewed the call on the federal government to refund the money expended on the federal roads across the state.
Governor Amosun explained that his administration has spent one hundred and forty six billion naira on the management of federal roads in the state and solicited the committee’s support to enable the state to access the sixty billion naira approved as the first tranche of the refund.
The governor also appealed to the federal government to cede control of Atan-Agbara road to the state.
