Deji of Akure Calls for Prayer, Urges Resolution of ASUU Strike

The Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Ogunlade Aladetoyinbo, has enjoined Nigerians especially religious leaders not to relent in their prayers for the peace and greatness of the country ahead of the 2019 general election.

In a festive message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Michael Adeyeye, the Akure paramount ruler said it was only prayer during a special festive season like Christmas that could ensure stability and harmony in the nation.

Oba Aladetoyinbo prayed for the recovery of the Nigeria’s economy and called on the INEC to remain focused in conducting credible polls next year.

The Deji also appealed to the federal government to quickly return to the negotiating table with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to find a lasting solution to the current industrial unrest in the nation’s universities.

The Akure monarch commended efforts of governments both at the Federal and Ondo State levels in addressing the alarming rate of insecurity in recent time.
