Presidential Advisory Committee on Elimination of Drug Abuse, PASEDA, has called on members of the public to partner Federal Government in fighting against drug abuse.
The team leader of PACEDA in the Southwest region, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Odeku who made the call at a sensitization program in Ibadan, said the Federal Government created PACEDA to stem drug abuse among Nigerians, especially the youths.

Mrs. Odeku who is also the Dean of faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ibadan, said though, the step would go a long way in eliminating drug abuse, there was need for collaboration of various stakeholders to achieve the mandate.
Director, Public Affairs, National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, Dr. Abubakar Jimoh, said, the innovation would assist the agency in waging war against the intake of food and drugs that are perceived to be harmful to human body system.
National Drug Law Enforcement agency, NDLEA, Commander in Oyo state, Mr. Ralph Igwenagu was of the opinion that uncontrolled drug abuse lead to increase rate of criminal activities.
Other members of PACEDA included Nigeria Police, Nigeria Customs Service, community and religious leaders as well as some Non-Governmental Organisations.
