The Chairman, National Action Council, NAC, Dr Olapade Agoro has urged Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to be wary of the antics of some party members who want to use backdoor to slot in the name of a convict, Reverend Ezeuko King as the party’s presidential candidate.
Dr Olapade Agoro who stated this in Ibadan while speaking with newsmen dissociated himself from the move.
He said some members of the party were hell bent in presenting Reverend King who has allegedly been convicted to death as the party’s presidential candidate.
He described as unfortunate, a situation where the posters of Reverend King who is still in prison had flooded some states under the platform of NAC.
The party chairman, who explained that no sane society would give room for a convict to contest for the number one seat of the country, noted that those behind the move were just trying to play on the intelligence of Nigerians.
Dr Agoro added that the idea that the candidate of the party, Hajia Rabia Cengiz recognized by INEC had sold her mandate to Reverend King was strange to the Constitution of the party and the electoral law.
