A 29 year-old man, Rasaq Iyanda was on Tuesday arraigned before an Osogbo Chief Magistrate court for alleged removal of the pant (underwear) of a thirteen year-old girl.
Rasaq was alleged to have committed the illicit act on Wednesday the 6th of February, 2019 at about 2:00am at Dalegan Compound, Osogbo.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the one count charge of unlawful and indecent assault.
The father of the girl, Mr. Raheem who was in court pleaded for permission to narrate the incident.
According to Mr. Raheem, her daughter shouted when she woke up in the morning to discover that her pant was gone.
He said he took the entire occupants of the house to an herbalist where it was revealed that one of the occupants removed the pants, a development which compelled the accused to confess.
The defense counsel, Mr. Tunbosun Oladipupo prayed the court to grant the accuse person bail, assuring the court that the accused person will stand his trial.
However, Police Prosecutor Inspector, Mr. Oladoye Joshua objected the application.
In a short ruling, the magistrate, Mrs. Mary Awodele ordered the accused person to be remanded in Ilesa Prison.
She adjourned the case till Tuesday 12th of March for ruling on bail.
