Two Kidnapped Along Iwo-Osogbo Road

Two staff of a private university located in Iwo, Osun State, were on Monday abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers abducted at Ile-Ogbo junction, along Iwo-Osogbo road.

A witness, who craved anonymity, told Radio Nigeria that the victims were accosted while returning from work in the evening.

He added that one person, who managed to escape from the scene was shot in the process and presently lying critically at an undisclosed hospital within the axis, while other two were dragged into the bush.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in the State, Mrs. Folashade Odoro, who confirmed the incident to Radio Nigeria correspondent, said police officers were presently combing the area to apprehend the culprits and rescue those who were kidnapped.

Radio Nigeria recalled that some Methodist Church members, including a priest were kidnapped along same route late last year.
