The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says the already distributed sensitive and non-sensitive electoral materials for the postponed presidential and National Assembly elections will be protected ahead of the rescheduled date of the elections.
INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner for Ondo State, Dr Rufus Akeju made this known while addressing newsmen in Akure.
Dr Akeju noted that the commission regretted the circumstances which electorates and Nigerians were subjected to on the postponement.
The REC maintained that the Commission would address the logistic issues raised over the postponement before the new date of Saturday February 23rd, 2019.
Dr Akeju emphasized that INEC was poised to conduct credible, free and fair elections in the interest of all Nigerians and in line with best Democratic practices in the world.
He appealed to the electorate to remain steadfast and believe in the electoral body.
