Following bloody bank armed robbery at Idoani in Ose Council Area where six people lost their lives, security has been beefed up in all the banking zones across the eighteen local government areas of Ondo state.
This is just as a special meeting between security agencies and bank managers is to be convened to fashion out strategies of curbing further attacks on commercial institutions and their customers.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Undie Adie disclosed this to newsmen while parading six suspected kidnappers at the police headquarters, Igbatoro road in Akure.
The police commissioner, who said Ondo state had remained peaceful until last week when two armed robberies were recorded in Akure that claimed life of an Anglican Bursar and another armed attack on a first generation bank at Idoani town, noted that some arrest had been made in connection with the incidents.
Mr. Adie assured the public and bank customers that there was no cause for apprehension as more policemen had been detailed to provide security at flashpoints in and around banking zones in major towns across the state.
On the six suspects, the Police Commissioner said they were the suspected kidnappers who have been terrorising Akoko area of the state, adding that they would soon be charged to court.
