The Ogun State Commissioner for Health, Dr Babatunde Ipaye has appealed for the renovation and provision of modern equipment in all healthcare facilities across the State to enhance efficient service delivery to the people.
Dr Ipaye who made the plea during the budget appraisal of the Ministry before the House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriations, noted that the step would boost the internally generated revenue of the health sector into the coffers of the government.
The Commissioner while pointing out that the recent recruitment of doctors, nurses and health attendants was long overdue stated that various reformation exercises had commenced including, display of price lists of drugs and phone numbers of medical directors in all hospitals in the State.
Dr Ipaye equally urged the lawmakers to collaborate with relevant authorities to improve on the support of the International healthcare partners and donor agencies to the Southwest States, lamenting the agencies now concentrated aids on the Northern part of the Country.
Also, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Housing, Mr Abimbola Abiodun said efforts were being intensified to complete various ongoing construction works in the State, including Abeokuta City Centre, Judiciary Complex and President Muhammadu Buhari Estate.
